I don't remember the Buddha being so colorful when Samantha Brown saw it. Maybe they dressed it for you. You certainly went on this trip with many Chinese friends. You won't ever feel lonely. The pictures are wonderful. You do a great job showing us China.
I wasn't actually sure myself, so I just did some research. Apparently, the locks represent the prayers and wishes the Chinese Buddhist who put them there. They get the locks engraved, lock them on the temple, and then throw away the key. They believe that this act will ensure that their wish or prayer is granted.
Hi there! As always, great pic.'s!!! At the picnic in Trevorton this past Sunday, we learned that you have been eating eggs!?!?!.... Much to the amazement of your parents! LOL Gotta do what you gotta do~ ;) Mwah! Oceanna
你好! Hello! My name is Ashley and I am a recent graduate of Susquehanna University where I majored in International Studies, German, and Putting Off Real Life. For the upcoming school year I will be living in the Hunan province of China, being schooled in Chinese culture while teaching in a public middle school. I hope this blog will not only allow my friends and family to stay up to date on my Chinese adventures, but will also allow me to stay in contact with everyone while I'm on the other side of the world whipping Chinese munchkins with giant noodles … or teaching them English.
Ashley,
